Uncle Lyonel...you will be missed. Thank you for every single story...for every smile. Thank you for always being positive and kind.
I can hear your teasing voice along with that sinister laugh every time I think of you...it warms my heart.

Uncle Lyonel was the middle child, like me, so I very much appreciated that twinkle he would get in his eye when he was up to something or about to tell a joke.
He had a fascinating gum collection and very strict rules about how many birds could occupy a power line at one time.
He took thoughtful care of grandma and grandpa Moore.
My Uncle Lyonel always had a warm smile, a genuine laugh, and time to talk.
He will be dearly missed, but I am so happy to celebrate the life he lived with love.

Uncle Lyonel was my Godfather. He never missed a birthday. He would show up at the house with a gift for me every year. Even in my 20’s after I moved out and had a child of my own, I still got a birthday card in the mail.
Every time I got to see him, my cheeks would hurt because the conversation would be nonstop laughter. Him and my Dad would often recount their old fishing stories to us. Some were about jello left on the counter to harden until they got back, noodles left in the water so it’d be quicker to make later, and thinking they’re lost at sea only to realize they never pulled the anchor up - they were just circling the same spot the entire time LOL. Those brothers were comedy gold when they got together. Now they’re fishing again in heaven, telling all the angels their crazy human experiences.
I’d give anything to be able to hear them again.
