Thomas Deisler

Owner, President, Licensed Funeral Director

Tom is a fourth-generation funeral director and has worked side by side with his father, Edward G. Deisler Jr., since 1975. Born and raised in Saginaw, he currently serves as the firm's president, owner and manager and is very active in the day-to-day operations of the business. Tom is proud that his business has been family owned and operated since 1888, celebrating 125 of service to the Saginaw community in 2013. 

He is a 1972 graduate of St. Stephen High School and a 1981 graduate of Wayne State University College of Mortuary Science. Tom became a licensed funeral director in 1982 and owner and manager of the funeral home in 1988. That same year, Tom started a grief support program held at the Green Acres Apartment Complex, developed to assist families during the difficult period of adjustment that follows death. He is committed to keeping the establishment a family run organization, while having the utmost respect and dignity for the families he serves. He and his wife Lori have been married since 1981 and have three children: Ryan, Andrew and Jessica. He is a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #4232, Sons of The American Legion Post #439 Saginaw, VFW Men's Auxiliary Post #1859 Saginaw, Michigan Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association.

Jennifer R. Rauschert

Licensed Funeral Director

Jenny has been a part of the Deisler Funeral Home family since April 2000. Born and raised in Auburn, she currently resides in Saginaw Township. Inspired by a public speaking teacher to explore her career options, Jenny researched funeral service by speaking to a funeral director located next to her high school. It was then that she developed a passion for funeral service. She is a 1994 graduate of Bay City Western. Following high school, Jenny enrolled at Delta College, where she completed both her State of Michigan mortuary science prerequisites and graduated with an Associate's Degree. In 1997, she graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Wheeling, IL.

 After graduation, Jenny began serving her apprenticeship in Cass City, and became fully licensed in 1998. She and her husband Jeff have two adorable sons: Ethan and Carter. Jenny has been a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church since 2004 and is an active part of the church council. She also serves on the Board of Children's Ministry where she is involved in teaching Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. Jenny is also a member of the Michigan Funeral Directors Association and National Funeral Directors Association. She enjoys spending time with her family and loves crafts. She has a desire to one day drive a race car, go skydiving and travel the world.

Jennifer Hammond

Licensed Funeral Director

Jennifer grew up in St. Charles and is a 1990 graduate of St. Charles High School. Knowing that she wanted to help others, Jennifer obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant certificate in her junior year of high school. She worked for several years in home healthcare until enrolling in Worsham College of Mortuary Science in 2002. She became a licensed funeral director in 2005. Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, camping and traveling

Douglas J. North

Funeral Director Apprentice

Doug has been employed with Deisler Funeral Home since November 2017. He was born, raised and has lived in Saginaw his entire life. Doug is a proud graduate of Carrollton High School, class of 2001. Following graduation, he became a Firefighter and an EMT, serving the Saginaw community for over 14 years. He married Lisa Spresny on August 20, 2010. They have four children: Emilee, Landon, Liam, and Charlotte. In September of 2019, he graduated from Delta College earning an associate degree in general studies. He is currently enrolled at the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science where he is pursuing his degree in funeral directing and embalming. Doug is a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Freeland. In his spare time, he enjoys photography, genealogy, kayaking, and camping.

GRetchen C. (Alcorn) Newman

Pre-Need Advisor

Gretchen C. (Alcorn) Newman was born and raised in Saginaw and currently resides in Thomas Township. She was a 1981 graduate of Swan Valley High School. Following graduation, Gretchen attended Central Michigan University. She enjoys decorating and spending time at their cottage at Lake George. Above all, Gretchen truly loves spending time with her family and her beloved pets. Gretchen became part of the Deisler Funeral Home family since February 17, 2014.

On April 22, 2014, Gretchen became a licensed funeral director apprentice with the State of Michigan. Although she is new to our funeral home, she brings with her six years of experience as a Cemetery Family Service Counselor. Gretchen's family includes the love of her life, Scott Newman; a daughter, Becca Newman; two sons: Nick (Christal) Newman, and Dan Newman; two grandchildren: Addison and Wyatt Newman.

Pari A. Sitarski

Administrative Assistant

Pari has been with the Deisler Funeral Home family since 2008. Born and raised in Freeland, she currently resides in Saginaw Township. Pari is a 1986 graduate of Hemlock High School. Following graduation, she attended Oakland University. She and her husband Mark have been married since 1990 and have a son, James. Pari is a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and is involved with faith formation classes for both children and adults.

David Guiterrez

Funeral Director Assistant

David has been employed with Deisler Funeral Home since the summer of 2006, working as both a Funeral Director Assistant and Greeter. David holds an Associate's Degree in Fire Science from Delta College. He is also a retired Firefighter Engineer with the Saginaw Fire Department, dedicating 21 years of service to the unit.

jim Cronkright

Funeral Director Assistant

Jim joined Deisler Funeral Home in August of 2014, following a 26 years of employment at the Dow Chemical Company as a Chemical Processor. He was born, raised, and remained within the Saginaw Community. On February 3, 1990, he married his loving wife, Christine, and together they have two wonderful sons: Tyler, and Kyle. In his free time, Jim enjoys restoring American antique classic cars and watching hockey, especially his favorite team, the Detroit Red Wings. Above everything, Jim loves and cherishes his wife and two sons and the many family vacations past, present, and in the future. He's "living the dream!:"

Richard Dolson

Funeral Director Assistant

Rick was born and raised in Saginaw. He began working with the Deisler Funeral Home family as a funeral director assistant since May 2015. He attended K-9th grade at Holy Rosary Catholic School. Rick then attended and graduated from Saginaw High School. He married the love of his life, and high school sweetheart, Cindy Wozniak, in 1971. Rick is the proud father of his daughter, Jenny (Brian) Courser and two granddaughters: Paige and Sara. He attended the Michigan Law Enforcement Officers Police Training Academy at Muskegon Community College. Following graduation, Rick began working for the Saginaw Police Department, retiring in 2002 after 30 years of honorable service. He is a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. In his free time, Rick enjoys both turkey and deer hunting.

Tom Kinsman

Tom joined the Deisler Funeral Home team in March of 2018. He worked as a repertory therapist for 20 years before retiring from Covenant Healthcare in 2014. Tom and his wife Martha are members of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and enjoy caring for their two mischievous dogs Ernie and Yoona and cat Elsie.

Dick W. Carroll

Funeral Director Assistant

Dick joined the Deisler Funeral Home team in April of 2019. He worked as a tool and die maker for 41 years before retiring from Cygnas in 2017. Dick and his wife Joni are members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Saginaw Township. He enjoys all sports and has been coaching at Valley Lutheran High School for many years.
