Stewart, Michael

Ocoee, Florida

Formerly of Saginaw, MI

Michael Robert Stewart, 28, of Ocoee, FL, unexpectedly passed away on November 21, 2022. Michael was born on December 12, 1993 to Paul and Cindy Stewart. Growing up in Saginaw, MI, Michael graduated from Heritage High School in 2012. He then went on to study Political Science at the University of Michigan before transferring to the University of Central Florida to study Hospitality Management, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in 2016 and Master’s Degree in 2019.
After graduating, he started his first corporate job at Charles Schwab as an Advisor Services Associate, kick-starting a five year career in finance. Most recently, Michael was working as a Manager in Financial Crimes in Risk Management at Charles Schwab.

Michael served as President of the HOA where he lived, on the Parks and Recreations Board, and the Tourist Development Council for Orange County, Florida. He was a member of The Rosen College of Hospitality Management Alumni Board, and he earned several Brokerage Licensees.  Michael loved soccer, refereeing across the country since childhood. In Florida, he refereed for many elite area soccer leagues. He had a love for roller coasters and enjoyed traveling to many different theme parks through the U.S. and Canada, and working for Cedar Point. Michael was passionate about Disney, and that love led him to work for Disney and Universal for several years.

Michael was the life of the family home, always quick witted, with contagious humor and keeping everyone entertained. If there was no excitement around, Michael either found it or created it. Perhaps this is why he had such a love for fireworks and holiday celebrations. His quiet side was often seen through his kindness and compassion for his family and friends.

His large and entertaining spirit will be greatly missed by those that survive him, his parents: Paul and Cindy Stewart; sisters: Felicia Stewart and Mallorie (Jason) Honeman; brother, Nicholas Stewart; niece, Rylan “Little Orca” Honeman; maternal grandparents: Lance and Margo Krager; his close friend from Florida, Eric Murfield; his second families from Michigan: The Flegenheimers and Sztuczkos; and many more aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and dear friends that he has met throughout his life.

Michael was preceded in death by paternal grandparents: Robert and Ilah Stewart; and his aunt, Rushia Gracey.
