Jo Ann, Adam and Sarah and family,
Words can’t describe how sad I feel about your loss. I am grateful to have known your husband, father and friend. Michael Albert. Emmenecker.
Throughout my 40 plus-year friendship with Mike and the Emmenecker-sibs, Somehow I was appointed the Nickname “Ken Be or Kent Be” whichever name came out of their mouth. I would usually come back with oh…ok “ Dan Be, Steve Be, Janice Be and Mike Be”. The teasing went back and forth and brought back such fun memories for me during my childhood. I’m not sure which Emmenecker sib designated me as “Ken/Kent Be” but “Mike Be” had no problem joining in and making me feel comfortable and apart of the Emmenecker-sib tribe. I was 12 years old, when I first met “Mike Be”. Although his statue and his natural curiosity to engage was a bit intimidating for a 12-year old, I learned to survive. M-Be, would ask great questions, listen and reply back with a comment to make you or I think....why did I make that choice again. Ha...! He love to peel the onion serveral layers deep, which kept me on my toes.
Whenever I was in Mike-Be presence, he really took the time to bond and connect with me througout my junior high and high school years.
My first memory of meeting “Mike Be” and his beautiful bride (Jo Ann) was at their farm near Saginaw, Michigan.
I could tell he really loved that farm. The zeal on Mike Be’s face told me the whole story. As he gave me the tour and highlighted the many opportunities for a real working mans farm. I got a little teary-eyed, (not-really but I was close to shedding a tear...) that is until I caught a glimpse of the ridding lawn mower. Maybe this when the tears flowed. Ha...! “Mike-Be” noticed and made the connection and asked me if I would like to drive the riding lawnmower. Of course immediately I said yes…! I must have rode the mower for a good hour. "M-Be" checked in with me a couple of times to make sure I was upright. I’m not sure if donuts or figure 8’s count as mowing. But I’m sure that day even a distracted 12-year old helped with production to keep the farm on pace for a full harvest. Ha… M-Be, made my experience fun and I was looking forward to visiting again to continue the hard work of mowing donuts and designs. Throughout my teen years whether it was reconnecting with “Mike Be” at a family gathering or a Michigan State football game. He always made time for me feel important and needed. I believe "M-Be”, connection with people was always on purpose and intentional.
In fact I shared this bond with all of the Emmenecker-sibs and family members. I’m sure a quality and trait that was inherited by Thomas J. Emmenecker.
My most fondest, memory of "M-Be" is when I was 25-years old and he generously accepted my invitation to join my wedding party. He was selfless like that. On the day of my wedding “M-Be” took the time to reconnect with me and engage in some manly activities for most of the day. Of course we worked out, went for a run and I’m almost sure we shot some hoops. He obviously made a difference and an impact on me, which helped me tremendously to relax as I prepared for my big day. Mike Be, thank you for modeling selflessness and using your life to serve and bless others.
Love your little bro “Ken Be”.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had the honor of working with Mike for a few short years and he was a wonderful colleague and mentor. Through the years, many construction trade workers conveyed how much they appreciated Mike and how he treated them fairly and respectfully. This always stayed with me. Mike was definitely one of the good guys.
Many thoughts and prayers for your family at this time!
