Obituary of Vera Jean Davis

DAVIS, Vera Jean, beloved child of God, age 82 years, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2012 at Hoyt Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre in Saginaw, Michigan. Vera was born on June 16, 1930 in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Russell and Vera (Dando) Anderson. She married Michael A. Davis on October 22, 1948 and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2008. He preceded her in death on November 14, 2008. Vera lived most of her life in Saginaw, and later years on Valentine Lake, Atlanta, Michigan with her husband, Mike, where she was an active member and treasurer at the Atlanta Congregational Church. She loved her family, had a great affection for animals, was a volunteer DNR loon ranger, and had a passion for music, reading and knowledge. Primarily, she provided a loving and caring home for her family. Vera is survived by her daughter, Lynne (Dr. John G.) Galsterer; her son, Dr. Michael A. (Stephanie) Davis II, of Saginaw; and four grandchildren: Dr. Suzanne Mason, Chelsea Mason, Dr. Megan Davis and Spencer Davis. Also, she is survived by her much loved sister and brother-in law, Janet and Raymond Boettcher of Tucson, Arizona; nephew, Raymond (Karen) Boettcher and children, Raelyn and Karly; niece, Jean (Dr. Erik) Henriksen and children, Lindsey and Kaitlin; and close friend since childhood, Bona Rousseau. Arrangements have been entrusted to Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State). A celebration of her life will be held privately at a later date.
