Muñoz, Gloria Elvia Saginaw, Michigan Passed away on Tuesday morning, December 15, 2020 at her residence. She was 59 years old. Gloria Elvia Espinoza was born January 6, 1961 in Saginaw, Michigan to Jesus and Lourdes (Ruiz) Espinoza. She graduated from Chesaning High School in 1979, where she was active in softball and volleyball. Gloria married Salvador Muñoz on February 2, 1982 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was a faithful and active member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Gloria was a commissioned lay minister for the Diocese of Saginaw and organized the Novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe. She also served as the choir director for the Hispanic Mass at St Francis of Assisi for over 20 years. Gloria was a talented piano and guitar player and performed at many celebrations. She also enjoyed singing. Gloria was known for making everyone feel welcomed and included. She could always be counted on for her support of her family and friends. But, what she loved most of all was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Salvador Muñoz; children, Miguel (Jessica) Muñoz and Analaura (Teodoro) Nieto; grandchildren, Kennedy, Oliver, Charlotte, David, and Pablo; parents, Jesus and Lourdes Espinoza; siblings, Rubén (Kimberly) Espinoza, Richard (Deirdre) Espinoza, and Robert Espinoza and many nieces and nephews. Gloria was preceded in death by her mother in-law, Antonia Muñoz; grandparents, Natividad and Cleotilde Espinoza and Alfonso and Maria R. Ruiz; uncles, John Sanchez and Jose A. and Beatriz Espinoza. FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 3680 S. Washington Avenue. Rev. Fr. Gerry Pehler, OFM Cap. will officiate. Rite of Committal will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. For those that are unable to attend the funeral service, you are invited to join remotely; the livestream will begin approximately at 11:00 a.m. at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/53878854 VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A vigil service will be held on Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. In keeping with mandated ordinances and for the safety of the community, face masks are required, social distancing, and gathering guidelines will be observed. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the wishes of the family c/o Salvador Muñoz.
