Obituary of Thomas Anthony Egleston

Dr. Thomas A. Egleston Saginaw, MI Passed away on September 10, 2020, at Edgewood Assisted Living Center. He was 81 years old. Dr. Egleston was born May 26, 1939, in Navan, Ireland, to the late James and Bridget (Cuffe) Egleston. Dr. Egleston earned his medical degree from University College Dublin. He completed his internship at Saginaw St. Mary's Hospital and his radiology residency at the Cleveland Clinic. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Dr. Egleston practiced radiology in the Saginaw area for over 30 years. He served as Chief of Staff at St. Mary's Hospital, President of the Saginaw County Medical Society, and a Board Member of the Michigan State Medical Society. He was a faithful and active member of St. Dominic Parish. Dr. Egleston was an avid sailor, flutist, and cyclist. He was a founding member and Chairman of the Friends of the Saginaw Valley Rail-Trail. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen; children, Brian (Patti) Egleston, Ann (Rob) Vermeer, and Laura (Jeff) Hill; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Kevin Egleston of Oxford, England; and many nieces and nephews. A private service took place on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at St. Andrew Cemetery.
