Obituary of Mary Ellen Sierocki

Mary Ellen Sierocki, age 95, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2020, just a few days shy of her 96th birthday. Mary Ellen Grams was born May 20, 1924 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Richard and Jennie (Killen) Grams. Mary Ellen married the love of her life, Austin "Si" Sierocki in 1942, who proceeded her in death in January 1989.
Mary Ellen is survived by her children and their spouses; David Sierocki, Terry Sierocki (Deborah), Sue Smith (Eric) and Tom Sierocki; her loving grandchildren: Amy VerHagen (Scott), Kelly Martin (Isaac), Mandy Kocsis (Mike), Michael Sierocki, Anne Stanfield (John), Shelly Bowerman, Julie Lowe (Jason), and Andy Smith (Sarah). Mary Ellen was predeceased by her brother, Richard (Bud) Grams; her daughter-in-law, Tina Sierocki; and her loving grandson, Paul Sierocki. Mary Ellen had 16 beautiful and dearly loved great grandchildren, and is survived by several dear friends, cousins, special nieces and nephews.
Mary Ellen was a dedicated servant to the church, her family, her grandkids and great grandchildren. She was a charter member of Countryside Presbyterian Church where she served on many boards and a proud member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary where she made many lifelong, dear friends. Mary Ellen spent many hours volunteering at the Aleda E. Lutz V.A. Medical Center and was proudly employed as a bookkeeper at Saginaw Township Schools for 18 years.
Mary Ellen loved to read, knit, and crochet, and created many beautiful things. She loved to cook and bake and always had food on hand for anyone that stopped. Mary Ellen loved spending time with friends and family and visiting the casino with Norma, Marge and Gerry.
The family would like to especially thank the staff Hospice Compassus for the extraordinary care that Mary Ellen received.
FUNERAL: A private family funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Brant Piper will officiate. For those who are unable to attend you are welcome to join us remotely via livestream at http://client.tribucast.com/tcid/98537325. Private burial and committal will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
VISITATION: A public visitation for Mary Ellen will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The family encourages the public to wear a mask and follow all mandated regulations.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable donation to Countryside Trinity Church or American Legion Auxiliary Unit #439. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at the funeral home or through www.DeislerFuneralHome.com
