Larry cared a great deal about his Torch Lake community, and he showed that caring by stepping up to the plate and serving as supervisor of the Clearwater Township Board of Trustees while he was still in good health, and, for his last term, when his health was not so good. He was consistently responsible for and interested in the condition of the parks and the public accesses which the township oversees. He gave many hours of his time to make our community a better place, and he enjoyed interacting with all of us who live here. Those of us who knew him will miss him and will remember the good that he did for Clearwater Township.

Dear Lynn, Brian, & Diane-We were so saddened to hear of Larry's passing. I know Margaret enjoyed talking to him when he came to visit your mom & the trips to the old cabin.
And the cherries-Margaret had kept several pkgs. of cherries in her freezer for him for a long time-Dave & I questioned whether they were any good-but apparently they were because Larry told Margaret the pies were delicious.
It's hard to keep in touch being in another state but Joe Loop usually passes things on.
I even met someone who was in the store where I work and was a teacher @ St. Charles & was a good friend of Larry's, but I don't remember his name.
May you find comfort in your faith, memories of Larry and each other.

Larry was my neighbor and friend at Torch Lake for the past 12 years. Our neighboring consisted of mostly standing in the yard or along the road as he walked one of his dogs. Being a small dog person, I was overwhelmed when I had a family dog for six weeks in January and February one year. Dear Larry came twice a day to walk that German Shepherd no matter what the weather!
During the last 2 1/2 years while he was homebound, I had the pleasure of getting to to know him better. It was during this time that I was privileged to meet some of the young people and peers from Saint Charles who came to visit him. It was apparent to me from meeting them, that Larry had impacted many lives in a positive way.
I will certainly miss my neighbor and friend.
