Obituary of James Aaron Steiner

Steiner, James Aaron of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on July 11, 2019 at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center. He was 75years old. James was born on January 8, 1944 to the late James and Anna Steiner. He married Maria Lumbreras on December 1, 1972 in Gladwin, Michigan; she survives him. After Jim graduated from Arthur Hill High School, he proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. Jim then took a position at CSX Railroad, previously known as C&O Railroad, as a brakeman. He retired in 2005 after 41 years of service. Jim was a devoted member of the Saginaw Salvation Army Church. He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing fast pitch softball, basketball, touch football, and watching boxing. Left to cherish Jim's memory besides his loving wife Maria are his three beautiful daughters: Tina (Dale) Doughty of Saginaw, MI, Angela (Tim) Geiges of Lincolnshire, IL and Heidi (Bud) Shilling of Yukon OK; his brother, Floyd Steiner of Midland, MI; his sister, Mary Ruth Robbins of Hutchinson, KS; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Ronnie Steiner; and brother-in-law, Robert Robbins. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Sunday, July 14, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In accordance with Jim's wishes cremation has taken place. Inurnment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens will take place at a later date. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Saginaw Salvation Army Church.
