That's him. We lived at the NE corner of Hamilton and Wayne. Played at the big field many times.

Jim and I were neighbors back in the day when he lived at Wayne and Niagara. He was a tenacious athlete and Viet Nam veteran. Worked on the railroad. Great sense of humor.
RIP friend.

I came across this obituary of Jim quite by accident and regret not having done as much sooner. Then again, Jim might not have remembered me as I lived on the opposite end of his block, on Hamilton and Lee, when he and his family lived at the corner of Wayne and Niagara Streets. I believe he had a sister (Mary?) but it was Jim who loved sports and that was our common denominator. Wow, that would have been about, what, maybe 1955 or '56. He might have been one of the neighborhood kids who came down to "The Big Field," the block between Hamilton and Niagara to play baseball. I'm not certain, but it seems possible, probable. I hope he had a full, rich life which would seem to me to be eminently right given who Jim was in those early years.

Jim was the most kindness and most genuine person you will ever get to know. As a child growing up I was close in age with my neice Tina and my brotherlaw after a long day at work I am sure still would come and pick us up to come over and go swimming and hang out and play with Tina. Both he and my sister would take me with them on family trips. I cherish those times.
His laughter was contagious. He loved my sister so much watching them together as I grew up is priceless. What a wonderful spirit of a person he was. One that has a special place always in my heart he was wonderful big brother in law. Always making us movies so we can watch. Even for my only daughter Christina he and my sister always wanted her to have every copy of a Disney movie there was. Jim you will always be missed but never forgotten. You were a one of a kind. We are all blessed to have known you.
