Obituary of Susan Kay Serr

Serr, Susan "Susie" Kay of Saginaw Township Beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at her home, with her sister by her side. She was 65 years old. Susan Kay Serr was born on May 7, 1952 in Decatur, Illinois to the late Robert W. and Willo G. (Humphrey) Serr. She attended Douglas MacArthur High School and First Baptist Church of Bridgeport. She was active with her friends throughout the Saginaw Community. Susie was a social butterfly, wanting to know everything about the people she met. Her gift was to make others feel special. Susie volunteered with the Girl Scouts of America, often filling orders for shipping. She collected key chains, coins purses, stuffed animals and absolutely loved hugging everyone. She will forever be remembered for her exuberant laugh and her servant's heart. The love of Christ shined through Susie by her kind and generous soul. Surviving are a daughter, "Sara"; two sisters and one brother: Leesa M. Serr of Saginaw, Sally J. Serr of Clear Lake Shores, TX, Robert A. (Linda) Serr of Houston, TX; a nephew, Hunter (Hailey) Serr and their son, Alexander of Katy, TX. Also surviving are many cousins and friends. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. James Neumann will officiate. Entombment will follow at Oakwood Mausoleum. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
