Obituary of Paula Ann Gorney

Gorney, Paula Ann Gaylord, MI formerly of Saginaw, MI Passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017. She was 45 years old. Paula Ann Rapin was born on May 16, 1972 in Saginaw, MI to Peggy Ann (Gardyszewski) and the late Thomas B. Rapin. Paula graduated from Nouvel Catholic Central High School in 1990. Paula and her former husband, Steve Gorney moved to Gaylord in 1999 where they raised their son, Brenden Thomas Gorney, who passed away April 12, 2016. While Paula was in Gaylord she worked as a Teacher's Aide at St. Mary Cathedral School. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her son, Brenden, family and friends. She also had a flair for fashion, shopping, baking and enjoyed spending time at the beach and pool. Paula is survived by her mother, Peggy Ann Rapin; sisters: Melissa (Jeff) Lazzaro and Karrie (Brian) Klopp; nieces and nephews: Cameron and Courtnie Swick, Brianna, Katie, Bernadette, Kristina, Bridget, Kolette, Brandon and Brooke Klopp. Paula will also be greatly missed by her many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. Paula was preceded in death by her son, Brenden Thomas Gorney; her father, Thomas B. Rapin; niece, Kasey Klopp; grandparents: Joseph and Lorraine Gardyszewski and Bernard and Clara Rapin. FUNERAL: A funeral service for Paula will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) Rev. Fr. Richard A. Bokinskie will officiate. Cremation will follow the funeral service. VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to visit on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Deisler Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Wish List.
