Peggy, Missy, and Karrie
Please accept my heartfelt condolences and prayers. Being a mom who recently lost her son, I know how Paula was feeling... and Peggy, i know how you are feeling. It is unnatural and not right to bury our children. Please, if you ever need to talk, I am available. I find peace by helping others who are going through the same thing as me. The pain will always be with you, even in your most joyous moments. But what I try to remember is all the memories and all the love we shared with the child we lost. You will hear many cliche sayings... but just remember, you need to do what you need to do. Not what someone else tells you. May you find some sort of peace and may your burdens lessen.
Love,
Lisa (Judzis) Karides

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of Paula's family. She was such a joy to have at work not only to our staff, who many of them called her "mom", but to our wonderful residents that she was so kind to. She will be missed so much. She touched us all with her sweet smile and gentle personality. May you rest in peace dear friend. Love, Andrea, Jill and all of your family at The Brook.

Oh, spunky Paula - your Aunt Jackie will keep you tucked safely in my heart. Sending love to my family. Sister Peggy, there are no words to comfort this grief and no heart big enough to contain it. Please know, your sisters stand with you. Always. Day or Night - just call.
To Paula's sisters, my nieces, please accept my heartfelt condolences. I know the loss of a sister. I have lost one in death and one in life. I know you too will stand together, as we know only sisters can do, and you will comfort each other and your mom in the years to come.
And we, each of us, take comfort that Paula is with our loved ones who have died before her. Your dad, our Tom, is beside her as is her son Brenden, and your grandparents, who loved each of you. The cycle of pain is over for Paula and I believe she will rest in the Peace of Our Lord.
I thought of several Leonard Cohen lyrics today that gives words to some of my feelings. This is a bit from one of his songs, Going Home, that gave me comfort.
Going home without my sorrow
Going home sometime tomorrow
Going home to where it's better than before
Going home without my burden
Going home behind the curtain
Going home without the costume that I wore
I'm going home without my sorrow
Going home sometime tomorrow
Going home to where it's better than before
Going home without my burden
Going home behind the curtain
Going home without this costume that I wore

Paula was such a Blessing to our St. Mary Cathedral School. I remember my heart being touched immediately the first time she got down on her knees to greet our daughter, Clover, when she was tiny & in pre-school. I remember her exhausting compliments to me, telling me I was such a good mom. She knew how to share this compliment when I needed to hear it. She loved our children. She relentlessly encouraged me to have more children, when I was afraid for a 2nd childbirth; we now have 4 beautiful children. She encouraged me to me deeply grateful for my relationship with my husband. She showed me how to speak to the hearts of small children. She reminded me just this spring, while visiting my house & my kids, to consider the 2's & 3's as "trying," not "terrible," as no child ever means to be terrible; they are simply trying everything out. This news truly breaks my heart. My life, as a mother was so inspired by her example & I only wish there could have been something I could have inspired in her that could have eased her pain. This is surreal, almost as if she & Brenden were truly some sort of angels, sent to Grace our school & these kids with the lessons most cherished for years to come. When I shared the news of her passing with our 11 year old daughter, Clover, she took a moment of silence, then said calmly that this sounds like God's plan. That Brenden would need to check in with his Mom with hugs & kisses because he smiled really big in the library after he would stop into & hug & kiss his Mom. I'll try to fall asleep tonight with a child's opinion in my mind as truth. Ms. Paula would encourage me to listen to my daughter.
Thank you to the woman who raised this beautiful woman. Her spirit will shine on in me as I raise my children that she encouraged me to bring to this world. :blue_heart::boom:. Abby Hamilton, Gaylord
