Szott, Donald J. of Saginaw Township, Michigan Son of the late John and Anna (Przewoznik) Szott passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence with his family by his side. He was 92 years old. Don was born on February 21, 1925 in Saginaw. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Don was employed as a product Designer at Saginaw Steering Gear, retiring in 1982 after 33 years of service. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and the League of St. Jude of Baltimore, Maryland. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by six brothers and six sisters. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Dominic Parish - St. Stephen Catholic Church.
