John Raymond Tinney was born on October 6, 1930 in Saginaw to the late Paul Raymond and Clara Edna (Rice) Tinney. They were united in marriage on March 24, 1951 in Saginaw; she survives him. John was employed by Consumers Energy as a gas serviceman; retiring in 1993 after 39 ½ years of dedicated service. He was a faithful member of Second Presbyterian and a member of the Marine Corps League. He was an avid outdoors man, enjoying both fishing and hunting. John had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved and cherished his wife, children and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Above all, he will forever be remembered for his kind gentle spirit and for his passion to help other people.
