Mr. Tinney was a wonderful man, a person we could all be proud of. He made you feel like you were the only one in the room when you talked to him...what a great man who had great kids...Rol Jersevic

To Sally and family--We haven't seen all of you in several years, but we have pleasant memories of our treks from Pennsylvania to Michigan to visit when we were all much younger. They were fun visits, catching up and the kids playing together. Jack was a great guy and you were both good, dear friends. We will miss him. Mona Lea, Beth and Pam

We are so very sorry to hear about the passing of Jack. He was such a good friend to both of us. I looked forward to each chance I had to see him. He truly was a special person to everyone who knew him. His advice to me was always say "Yes, dear" to your wife and you'll stay out of trouble. Our condolences to the entire Tinney family.

Our families had many family camping trips together. It was always a blast, and Uncle Jack always told jokes and made us laugh. Favorite memories I think of often include when we were lined up at the lake waiting to put the boats in to fish for coho, and Uncle Jack kept telling out "TUNA...TUNA!" To the long line of fishermen, and each time Aunt Sally and my mom went shopping at Grayling and came home with bargains, he would say "How much did it cost us for you girls to save all that money?" And we would all laugh. I am comforted knowing he is in heaven with our Lord and grandma, Uncle Grant, and all his other loved ones, because Uncle Jack loved the Lord. And in the blink of an eye we will all be together again.

Bob, Sue and the rest of the family, I am so sorry for your loss. I have great memories of watching Jack as he would come to all of the kids soccer games and events, he truly loved those Grandchildren. How precious that he always gave time to them. I've heard it said that you can pick your friends, but not your family. Well, Uncle Jack, I was lucky enough to be able to call you family and could never have picked better. Your ever-present smile and affable wit are life memories I'll treasure for the rest of my life. You will be greatly missed, but not forgotten by anyone who knew you. I can rest assured now that you and dad are back together, heaven will never have a gas leak that can't be repaired. Thanks again for being you.
Your nephew,
Craig Thormeier

Jack will be miss by all of us here at Local 104 Utility Workers Union, He was always first to help somebody grow at work. I served with him on the Credit Union loan committee where I learned what a great compassion for helping others he had and how he help us see good in others. Thank you for your friendship Jack.
