Obituary of Judy Mae Kinkle

Kinkle, Judy Mae of Saginaw Township Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper. She was 96 years old. Judy Mae Molda was born on August 19, 1920 in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late George R. and Rose Anne (Thompson) Molda. She married Harold Paul Berg; he preceded her in death during World War II in the Philippines on May 20, 1945. She later married Charles DeLance Kinkle on January 14, 1967 in Reese, Michigan; he preceded her in death on May 2, 2005. Judy owned and operated "Judy's Café" in Saginaw and Tuscola Counties for several years. Since 1972 she had been affiliated with St. Mary's of Michigan, having served on many boards as past president of the auxiliary and historian. Judy has also served on East Central District of Auxiliaries and was involved with starting the first Hospital Hospitality House in Saginaw. She is a life member of the Children's Free Ward of Saginaw, Hospital Hospitality House and St. Mary's Auxiliary. In 2013 and 2014, Judy was voted Outstanding Senior Volunteer of the Year. She was also named Saginawian of the year in 2015. Judy had always been a dog lover, having many favorite dogs in her lifetime, including her little maltese, Peach, the love of her life. Surviving are a son, William H. Berg, Sr. and his lady friend, Donna Felton of Saginaw; four grandchildren: William (Ann) Berg, Jr. of Freeland, Daniel Berg and his lady friend, Jamie of Bay City, JoAnne (Thom) Kelley of Midland, Christine Dilts of Oakley; five great grandchildren: Justin (April) Tripp of Grand Blanc, Chelsea Berg of Freeland, Brian Berg and his fiancée, Holly Waggoner of Davison, Brandon Berg of Bay City; and Alexis Dilts of Oakley; and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Duane H. Berg; a grandson, Michael Berg; two daughters-in-law: Patricia Berg and Carol Berg; and two sisters and three brothers. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Robert Richards will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Mary's of Michigan Auxiliary.
