Obituary of Barbara Ann Larkin

Larkin, Barbara A. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away peacefully on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper. She was 80 years old. Barbara Ann Meibeyer was born on September 2, 1935 to the late Fredrick and Margaret (Speck) Meibeyer in Detroit. Barb was a graduate of Wayne State University, receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She spent over 25 years touching countless lives within the Saginaw Public Schools, primarily at Longstreet Elementary. Because of her dedication, Barb received the Excellence in Teaching Award. Barb retired in June of 2000, but her passion for teaching did not diminish as she continued to volunteer regularly with the HOSTS program (Helping One Student To Succeed). Also during her retirement, Barb found much joy in spending time with her family, reading and enjoying the company of her Lunch Bunch. Barb is survived by her loving family including her children: Susan (Tobin) Dust, Gayle (Alec) Laorr, Jeffrey (Lynette) Adamo; grandchildren: Brian and Andrew Dust, Scott and Ryan Laorr, Justine and Elyse Adamo; and sister, Dorothy (Neall) Schroeder. According to Barb's wishes, cremation has taken place and her family will celebrate her life with a private gathering. Several of Barb's grandchildren participated in the DECA Business Program at Heritage High School and because of this, her family would like memorial contributions to be made in her memory to HHS DECA.
