Standish, Michigan

Our loving, kind, and generous mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Toni and Trish House in Auburn. She was 63 years old. Cori was born on June 4, 1961, in Bay City, Michigan, to Robert and Donna (Douponce) Miller. She married her high school sweetheart, Donald T. Spresny, on July 7, 1979, in Bay City. He preceded her in death on September 13, 2017. Cori graduated from Bay City Western High School in 1979 and worked for many years at Ascension St. Mary’s Standish, retiring in 2022.

She had a deep love for spending time with her husband, hunting, fishing, traveling to Tennessee, and camping in the Upper Peninsula. Her hobbies included gardening, photography, trying new recipes, collecting rocks from places she visited, going to car shows, rummage sailing, and most of all, attending her grandchildren’s events. Cori was also a talented crafter and baker, winning multiple ribbons at the Arenac and Ogemaw County Fairs, and once earning the title of Homemaker of the Year. Known for her hospitality, she made sure no one went hungry or thirsty, always offering a drink or a snack. Family and friends will fondly remember the summer nights spent around the campfire, laughing, telling stories, and sharing cherished memories. Cori was passionate about her family and was especially devoted to her grandchildren, often sharing her craft skills with them.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Doug) North; grandchildren, Emilee, Landon, Liam, and Charlotte North; parents, Robert and Donna Miller; brother, Randy Miller; mother-in-law, Grace Spresny; brother-in-law, David (Simone) Spresny and their daughter, Marissa Spresny; sister-in-law, Tammy Miller; and special friends, Shawn and Denise Barrette, and Jean and Chris Gates. She is also survived by extended family and many dear friends.

Cori was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Miller Jr., and her father-in-law, Donald H. Spresny.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at McLaren Bay Region, especially Dr. Jacob Leroux, for his compassion and care. Special thanks are also given to the staff at Toni and Trish House, particularly Shaun and Whitney, for the loving care they provided to Cori in her final days.

FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State), Saginaw, MI 48603. Cremation will follow the service.

VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
