Loving wife, mother, grandmother, grammy, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024 at MyMichigan Medical Center in Saginaw with her loving family by her side. She was 71 years old. Carmen Theresa Silva was born on October 31, 1953 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Richard Delgado on March 6, 1971 in Saginaw. Carmen was a dedicated employee of the United States Postal Service for 15 years and she also worked at Pic Way Shoe Store. She was an active member of New Beginnings Ministries Outreach in Saginaw where she served as the Treasurer for the church.
She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and loved watching them play. Carmen also enjoyed crafting, gardening, playing bingo, and taking trips to the casino. But, above all she really loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who are the light of her life.
Surviving is her husband, Richard Delgado; children, Renee (Richard H. Gomez Sr.) Delgado Rivera, Richard (Gabriella) Delgado Jr., Salvador Delgado, Carmen Ang’l (fiancé Anthony M. Lerma) Delgado; grandchildren, Mariya, Brianna (Hunter), Richard III, Zoey, Lucas, and Jonas; two sisters, Roseanne Worthington and Jeanne Delacruz; many nieces and nephews, and her “ride or die” best friends, Pat and Phil Flores, Velia Delgado, and Mary Salas.
Carmen was preceded in death by her sister, Sylvia Castanon, daughter in-love, Roxanne Moore, and her mother in-law Esperanza Merino.
FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2024 at House of Prayer Baptist Church, 2233 King Road, Saginaw, MI 48601. Pastor Augustine Delgado will officiate. A committal service will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery in Saginaw.
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Sunday, November 24, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a time for prayer and sharing at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
