Obituary of Sharon L. Biber

Please share a memory of Sharon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sharon Louise (Goerke) Biber born November 19, 1946 to Robert and Dorothy (Elve) Goerke in Buffalo, NY and fell asleep in Jesus on November 17, 2024 in Saginaw, MI. Following graduation, Sharon worked in the mail room at Graphic Controls in Buffalo. It was there, that she met her husband, Rich Biber. They had three sons while still living in Buffalo.

In 1978 they moved to Riverside, CA. Shortly after moving, Sharon started an in-home daycare business in 1979. It quickly grew to accommodate 12 fulltime kids year round. She retired from her daycare business after 25 years in 2004 when she and Rich moved to Hemet, CA. At that time, she was caring for the children of people she had cared for in their youth. Many of the kids, hearing Sharon’s own sons call her mama and the adults call her Sharon, called her “Mama Sharon” and still do to this day. Her love of children was a blessing in many areas of her life. At her church, Faith Lutheran in Riverside, she faithfully served for many years as Sunday School Superintendent, including directing many memorable Christmas programs like “Angels, Lambs, Ladybugs, and Fireflies” and “Angels Aware.” She made her home a beacon to all the kids in the neighborhood. She treated them all like her own; disciplining when necessary and loving always. She moved to Saginaw, MI after the passing of her husband of 51 years, Rich, in 2019, where she remained until her passing.

Sharon is lovingly remembered by friends and family across the country; three sons, the late David (Missy) Biber, Idyllwild, CA; Robert (Kammi) Biber, Brandon, SD; Paul (Rebecca) Biber, Saginaw, MI; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren – David and Missy’s children – Kathleen (Carl) Harris, Jason, Benjamin, and Sarah Biber; Bobby and Kammi’s children – Samantha (Thomas) Lingen and their kids Adeline, Evelyn, and Teddy; Christopher (Cameron) Biber and their son Jack; Brianna (Nathaniel) Burns, and Joshua (Molly) Biber; Paul and Rebecca’s children – Elijah, Grace, and Hannah; brothers: Mike (Sandy) Goerke, Brockport, NY; Greg (Judy) Goerke, Jamestown, NY; “sisters” of many years Carol (Pete) Darmer, Hiltonhead, SC; Kathy (Rick) Loerzel, Boonesville, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rich, and her eldest son, David.
