Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024 at her residence with her family by her side. She was 84 years old. Erma Patricia Gonzalez was born on June 8, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Andrew and Jessie (Salas) Gonzalez. She married the love of her life Albert M. “Al” Vega on September 3, 1960. They celebrated 62 wonderful years together before Al’s death on May 20, 2022. Erma was employed by Covenant Healthcare as a billing clerk, retiring after several years of dedicated service. She was a member of St. Dominic Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church in Saginaw for many years.

Surviving are her children, Albert Vega Jr., Debra Vega, Daniel Vega and Victor Vega; grandchildren, Amber (Ruben) Cirilo, Tori Martinez and Zachary (Raquel) Vega; great-grandchildren, Paul Jr., Alijah, Gabriel and Mackenzie Trevino; sisters in-law, Marylou (Frank) Sanchez and Mary Ochoa and many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Erma was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Jessie Gonzalez; siblings, Henry Gonzalez, Greg Gonzalez, Mary Dela Cruz, and Toni Flores.

FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at St. Dominic Parish – St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn Street, Saginaw, MI 48602. Rev. Fr. Steven M. Gavit will officiate. Committal service will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Saginaw.

VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at St. Dominic Parish – St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn Street on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.

MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the wishes of the family c/o Debra Vega.
