Obituary of Rebecca Sue Sovansky

Rebecca Sue Sovansky age 65 passed Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper with her loving husband by her side. Rebecca was born on April 03, 1959 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Richard and Esther (Schoen) Sullivan. She was united in marriage to Michael Sovansky on June 28, 1986; he survives her.  Becca graduated from St. Stephen High School in 1977. She then went on to Saginaw Valley University where she obtained her Master’s Degree in Finance. Becca retired from Covenant Healthcare after 35 loyal years.

Rebecca was a longtime member of Holy Spirt Catholic Church; where she served in many volunteer positions. She sat on the board of directors of Health Advantage and Covenant McNally House. Becca enjoyed cooking, traveling and shopping, watching cooking and games shows. But most of all she loved her family and enjoyed spending as much time with them as she could. Becca will always be remembered as being a great wife, mother, grandma, sister and great friend.

Becca is survived by her husband; Michael, three children; Portia (Rob) Hahn, Alex Sovansky and Erin (Marc) Sovansky-Winter, two grandsons; Oliver and Ian Hahn, sister; Janeen (Richard) Miller, step-mother; Thomasine Sullivan, brother-in-Law; Dan French, dear friends from SSHS and many church friends and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Becca was preceded in death by sister, Kristen French and brother, Craig Sullivan.

FUNERAL: Funeral Mass for Rebecca will take place on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 11:00 am from Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd. Saginaw, MI  48609 with Rev. Fr. Pete Gaspeny to officiate. Committal to follow in St. Andrew Cemetery.

VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to gather on Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State St.) Saginaw, MI  48603 with a Vigil for the Deceased prayed at 6:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church Monday morning from 10:00 am until the time of service.
