Seybold, Dylan M.

Holland, Michigan

Our beautiful, charismatic, one-in-a-million- son, brother, grandson, and nephew passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Holland Community Hospital. He was 29 years old. Dylan Mackenzie Seybold was born on April 6, 1995 in Hastings, Michigan. He was his family’s precocious, “middle child,” and grew up in Weatherford, Texas. He moved with his family to Lincoln, Nebraska in 2011. Dylan graduated from Lincoln East High School in Lincoln, Nebraska in 2013. He moved to Holland in 2014 and found work in the industrial sector, ultimately landing at Impact Fab where he was employed as a Laser Operator.

Dylan was an avid reader and was very proud to be working on building his own personal library. He especially enjoyed planning trips with his mom and his brother to obscure, used book stores to hunt for hidden gems.  He enjoyed a good game of pool and had recently signed up to compete with his friends in a pool competition at Soaring Eagle Casino in November. Dylan was a music lover and had recently begun to treat himself to concerts as often as possible. He had been looking forward to attending Riff Fest at Pine Knob in a few weeks. From a young age, Dylan had discovered a love and talent for drawing and had continued to develop his passion for art. He had plans to illustrate a children’s book that his mom wanted to write and was humble about his ability to do the project justice, while being excited at the thrill of sharing his talent with the world.

Dylan enjoyed deep, philosophical discussions, treating his family to dinner, ax throwing adventures with his brother, and watching his cousins play ball. He was his older sister Brianna’s “Irish Twin,” and reveled in teasing her for nine days every year that they were the same age. He was quick-witted, compassionate, generous, and kind to everyone he met.

Dylan believed in the value of being an organ and tissue donor and at his passing, his family honored his wish to donate. They are incredibly proud of his thoughtful registration so that they could be guided without reservation when presented with the decision. It made the hard choice much easier on them and the family wishes to encourage people, in honor of Dylan, to consider becoming a donor.

Dylan is survived by his mother, Amy M. (Darabos) Curry; sister, Brianna Seybold; brother, Ian Seybold; grandparents: Dennis and Diane Darabos; uncles: Dennis Jr. (Shannon) Darabos and Michael (Su) Darabos; cousins: Quinn and Kennedy Darabos, Elliot, Graham and Ryder Darabos.

He is also survived by a very special cousin, Amanda Paquette, whom the family wishes to thank for her enormous help and support through this incredibly difficult time.

Dylan was preceded in death by his step-father, Eljon Curry; a great aunt who held a special place in his heart, Donna Borchard; and great grandmothers: Catherine Stevenson and Doris Chinnery.
