Obituary of Patrica G. Thurlow
Thurlow, Patricia G.
Saginaw Twp., Michigan
Our loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend was called to her heavenly home on Saturday morning, August 24, 2024 at HeathSource Saginaw. She was 80 years old. Patricia Gail Albright was born on May 11, 1944 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Alvin and Helen (Orem) Albright. She married Stephen A. Thurlow on November 22, 1980. He preceded her in death on November 4, 2018. After graduating from Arthur Hill High School in 1962, she continued her education at Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky and Saginaw Valley State University, earning a Master’s Degree in elementary education. Patricia was employed by the Saginaw Public School District as a first grade teacher at Webber Elementary, retiring after 29 years of service. She was a member of Ames United Methodist Church and later Hopevale Church for many years.
She loved teaching. Patricia enjoyed sewing, making cloth books, stuffed animals, and clothes for her loved ones. She also enjoyed gardening and growing beautiful roses and delicious raspberries. Patricia was determined and caring, always showing concern for others and showering them with love, all while working full time and raising a family of her own. She will be remembered by those who knew her as hard working and always completing the task at hand. Animals held a special place in her heart, especially the numerous cats that she rescued over the years. She epitomized the concept of unconditional love. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children, Stephen Arthur (Jacqueline) Thurlow Jr., Hughie Arthur Thurlow, and Amie Lynn (Daniel Levenson) Thurlow; nine grandchildren, Stephen, Nicole, Susan, Benjamin, Patricia, Mitchell, Hughie Jr., Victoria, and Michael; three bonus grandchildren, Cameron, Gabby, and Caleb; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Judy Mertz and her children, Dawn, Scott, and Doug; one brother, Ed Albright and his daughter, Kristine; one brother in-law, Charles (Brenda) Thurlow and their children, Kristen, Matthew, and Lauren; one sister in-law Sarah Thurlow and many close friends.
