Obituary of Orville Arley Riley, Jr.

Orville Arley Riley, Jr. age 92, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Independence Village, Saginaw with his family at his side. Orville was born on February 20, 1932 in Salisbury, Missouri to the late Orval and Opal (Adams) Riley Sr. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Marine Corp. for 20 years. After retiring from the military Orville went to work for General Motors; where he retired after 25 loyal years.

Orville was a member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Post 22 and the Marine Corp League, John C. Rock Detachment #902.

Orville is survived by his children; Karen Brooks, Bruce Riley, Sharon Cramer, Jenny (Keith) Knoll, David (Yvonne) Riley and Theresa (Jeff) Corley, 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents Orville was preceded in death by his second wife, Maria H. Riley in 2016.

FUNERAL: Funeral services for Orville will take place on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 11:00 AM from Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State St.) Saginaw MI  48603. Rev. Fr. Richard John will officiate. Committal and Military Honors to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, under the auspices of the American Legion Post 22 and the USMC.

VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of services.

MEMORIAL: In lieu of flowers, those planning a memorial contribution are asked to consider memorials to Marine Corp League, John C. Rock Detachment #902.
