Morris, James C. “Jim”

Saginaw, Michigan

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and dear friend passed away after a hard fought battle with heart issues on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Henry Ford Hospital. He was 85 years old. James Chlore Morris was born August 6, 1938 in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan to the late Chlore and Rena (Pickett) Morris. He had very fond memories of growing up in the Upper Peninsula. He proudly served his country with the 82nd Air Borne Division of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Jim worked as a loan officer throughout the United States and settled in Saginaw in the 60’s. For the past 50 years Jim worked as a Process Server for the Saginaw County District Court, until his heart attack in December of 2023.

He loved to golf, hunt, play cards and design and create jewelry with his wife. Jim made many trips to Wyoming to hunt elk and shared those trips with family and friends. He treasured the relationship he had with his extended Stout family and they treasured him. For years there was a tradition to have his “nieces and nephews” ride with him in the parade at the Trufant Jubilee and feast on corn dogs afterwards. Jim’s huge personality and a big heart will be greatly missed by all the many lives he touched.

Jim married Joyce Stout on June 23, 1984, and together they celebrated 40 years of making beautiful memories. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife: Joyce; children: Mia Durham and James (Mary) Durham; grandchildren: Josh and Hayley Durham; sisters: Rebecca Nieves and Mary Morris; mother-in-law, Belva Stout; many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

In keeping with Jim’s wishes cremation has taken place. The family will gather privately to celebrate his life. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) Saginaw, MI 48603. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family through www.DeislerFuneralHome.com
