Obituary of Rudolf Herrmann
Herrmann, Rudolf “Rudi”
Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved husband, father, and Opa passed away on Thursday morning, June 27, 2024 at HealthSource in Saginaw. He was 83 years old. Rudolf Herrmann was born on March 6, 1941 in Nuremberg, Germany to the late Franz and Margarete (Schirmer) Herrmann. He married Veronika “Mona” Striebel in a Lutheran church in Stein, Germany on May 29, 1964. Together they came to Saginaw in 1968, where he worked for General Motors/Saginaw Steering Gear Plant 2 as a Machine Repairman until his retirement in 1999.
Rudi recently celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary to the love of his life, Mona, who survives him. He also leaves two daughters, Tracy (Scott) Baase and Shannon (Eric) Wurfel, and four grandchildren, Blake and Peyton Baase and Reese and Luke Wurfel.
Rudi will be remembered for his love of family and infectious sense of humor. He was always the life of the party and loved to have a good time. He enjoyed having a beer and was always willing to help a friend. No matter where he went, there was always someone that knew him. Rudi celebrated his German heritage at the Frankenmuth Bavarian and Oktoberfest every year. He was an avid Detroit Lions fan and took great pride in their recent season. He was a hard worker with a strong work ethic. For many years, Rudi contributed actively to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church by serving on its board of trustees. He was also a member of the Falcon’s Club.
