Nancy A. Brasseur

Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away peacefully on May 28, 2024 at HealthSource Saginaw. She was 82 years old.  Nancy Ann Smith was born November 6, 1941 to Marguerite (Gilbert) Luzynski and Norbert Smith.  She attended Arthur Hill High School.  She met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Gilbert Brasseur, and was married for over 63 years.  She was an excellent cook and homemaker; loved being outdoors, gardening or working in the yard and visiting with friends and neighbors in her home.

Nancy converted to the Catholic faith and loved the Lord Jesus Christ deeply.  She was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and was involved in many of the church ministries including Befrienders; Mass Coordinator; Eucharistic Minister, both at church and to the homebound, and Charismatic Renewal.

After her children were grown, Nancy returned to school to complete her GED, of which her family was extremely proud.  She continued her education at Delta College, completing a Geriatrics program.

Taking the education and driven by her devotion to helping others in need, Nancy put her faith into action by providing home health care and housekeeping to the elderly.  She always gave to the less fortunate.

She supported her husband’s dream of owning a model train store for over 50 years and for a period of time was President of Brasseur Electric Trains.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Gilbert Brasseur; the proud and loving Mother of Dale Brasseur (Diana), Dean Brasseur (Katherine), David Brasseur (Mary); Grandmother of Erin Dolbee (John), Kiri, Jacob and Emily Brasseur, Meghan and Noah Brasseur; Great Grandmother of Ava and Mia Dolbee; Sister, Barbara Jean Todd; Dear friend of Joyce Krogman and Barbara Long. Nancy was predeceased by two infant boys and three brothers: Lorence "Larry" Smith, Roger Smith and Robert “Bobby” Smith.

The family would like to thank the caregivers of HealthSource Saginaw and A&D Home Health Care for the care that was provided to Nancy.
