Obituary of Jose Luis Carranza

Carranza, Jose L. age 81 passed away peacefully Monday, May 27, 2024 with his family by his side. Jose was born on December 29, 1942 in Ocotlan Jalisco, Mexico the son of the late Antonio and Remedios (Diaz) Carranza Castellenos. Jose graduated High School in Mexico. He worked for General Motors for 48 years before his retirement in 2005. Jose was very involved in the church both St. Francis of Assisi and St. Joseph Catholic Churches. He enjoyed music, dancing and going on vacations.

Jose is survived by his brothers and sisters; Maria Teresa Zuniga, Martha Flores, Carmen, Ignacio and Jorge Carranza, nieces and nephews; Adriana Zuniga and Eduardo and Margarita Flores, cousins; Joaquin and Cruz Diaz; and dear friends; John Farrell and Chuy. Besides his parents, Jose was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Jose’s family would like to give a special thank you to Covenant Hospice and his family physician, Dr. Amal Fadhel.

FUNERAL: Funeral Mass for Jose will take place Monday, June 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. 6th Ave. Saginaw, MI  48601. Fr. Francis Voris OFM Cap to officiate. Inurnment will take place in Mexico.

VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to gather at the church on Monday from 10:00 until the time of Mass.

MEMORIALS: Those planning a memorial contribution are asked to consider St. Joseph Catholic Church.
