Our loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 15, 2024. She was 87 years old. Joanne Alma Ott was born on February 9, 1937 in Saginaw to the late Phillip and Mildred (Schumacher) Ott. She graduated from Saginaw High School, Class of 1955. Joanne married Dale A. Reetz on February 11, 1956 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Saginaw. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed singing in the choir and serving on the Altar Guild and Walther League. She continued following the Lutheran faith with membership at Redeemer and Bethlehem. Joanne worked in retail sales throughout her life and she made many friends while working. In her spare time she was a member of the Red Hats, took frequent trips to the casino, visited Las Vegas, played cards, bowled, watching the Detroit Lions and cheered them on at their games as a season ticket holder for many years and traveled to away games. Joanne’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family, watching her grandchildren play sports and participate in school events.

Joanne is survived by her husband, Dale Reetz; children: Lori (Dan Dijak) Reetz, Greg (Mary) Reetz, Scott (Kim) Reetz and Cheryl Reetz; grandchildren: Rachel (Jordan) Miller, D.J. (Stephanie) Reetz, Sabrina Reetz, Evan Reetz and Jaden Gross; great grandchildren: Jackson and Mac Miller and Ellie Reetz; sister-in-law, Carol Ott; many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends, especially Marlene King, her faithful friend for 75 years.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ken Ott.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Joanne’s life on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State), Saginaw, MI 48603.
