Passed away on January 31, 2024 at Ascension St. Mary’s in Saginaw. He was 73 years old. Lazero Perez was born on October 30, 1950 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Francisco L. and Francisca (Ponce) Perez. He married Julia San Miguel on October 30, 1998 in Saginaw. He attended college and obtained a degree in Management. Lazero was employed by General Motors as a Supervisor, retiring in 2009 after 40 years of service. He was the previous owner of Frank’s Bar in Saginaw. Lazero was a member of the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption and the Knights of Columbus Fr. Norman Van Poppelen Council for many years.

Lazero loved dancing. He also enjoyed bowling and golf. But, what Lazero really loved most was spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife, Julia Perez; children, Victoria (Jamar) Brown, Linda (Michael) Sandoval, Lazaro (Tammy) Perez Jr., Francisco (Adriana) Perez, Maria (Alfredo) Garcia, Daniel (Shawntea) Perez, Hope (Ezekiel) Escamilla, Cindy (Reuben) Kapp, Yolanda Perez, Suzette Perez; 37 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; three brothers and seven sisters, Janie Hernandez, Dolorez Perez, Connie Rodriguez, Gilberto (Martha) Perez, Ricardo (Cindy) Perez, Gloria Orozco Perez, Elizabeth Perez, Margaret (Augustine) Salas, Hope (Manuel) Medrano, David Felix Perez; brother in-law, Lazaro Chappins Jr., special friend, Dianne Hood and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Lazero was preceded in death by his son, Michael Sparks; two great grandchildren, Brayden Ramirez and Karina Rodriguez; brother in-laws, Beto Rodriguez and Louie Hernandez; best friend, Elbert McKinny Jr.

FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption, 615 Hoyt Ave., Saginaw, MI. Rev. Fr. Richard John will officiate. Committal service to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum.

VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Monday, February 5, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
