Pool, Ronald K. “Ron”

Saginaw, Michigan

Our talented, kind and quick-witted husband, father, grandfather, brother and dear friend passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at the Toni and Trish House. He was 81 years old. Ronald Keith Pool was born on September 25, 1942 in Saginaw to the late John A. and Marie L. (Brin) Pool. As a young man he worked with his father and brothers at Courtesy Bakery in Green Acres Plaza. He then owned and operated Miller’s Home Bakery from 1979 until 2013. He was an accomplished Certified Master Baker. It was at the bakery where he met the love of his life, Dawn Sieggreen. They were married on February 10, 1984. Even into retirement Ron continued to work at STT as a security guard and Draper’s Auto Dealer. His love to bake continued in retirement making Texan bread, cookies, rolls and glazed bran muffins in his home bakery. If he wasn’t baking, Ron would be in the garden tending to vegetables, golfing or supporting his grandson, John, at the demolition derby. He was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where he often could be found in the kitchen baking for the holiday bazaar, men’s breakfast or a church function.

Ron will be deeply missed by his wife, Dawn; children: Keith (Hilda) Pool, Christine (Chris) Lopez, Elizabeth Marie “Betsy” Pool, Ronald “Ronnie” Pool II, and Jeremy (Amy) Pool; grandchildren: Kirsten (Zachary), Jamie (Derrick), Jessica, Catherine, Joseph, Johnathin, Sasha (Trevor), Brittany, Cassandra (Aaron), Joshua, Allie, Karly and Charlotte; 17 great grandchildren and one more great grandchild expected in April; sister, Jeanne Loiacano; sisters-in-law; Nancy and Donna Pool, Pamela Korbein, Cindy (Marc) Fitzgerald and Renee Sieggreen; brothers-in-law, Larry Sieggreen and Mark (Mary) Sieggreen; and his loyal furry companion, Jack; many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marie Pool; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Donald and Lorraine Sieggreen; brothers: Alvin (Lorraine), Wayne and John “Jack” Pool; brothers-in-law, Jack Loiacano, Jeff Sieggreen and Larry Korbein.
