SORIA, Mercedez (Saucedo) of Saginaw, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Traditions of Saginaw, surrounded by her family. She was 96 years old. Mercedez Saucedo was born on September 6, 1927 in San Marcos, Texas the daughter of the late Aureliano and Santos (Hernandez) Saucedo. She married the love of her life, Raymond F. Soria, on September 11, 1951 in Toledo, Ohio. He preceded her in death on February 15, 2014. Mercedez was a longtime and faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church; where she was a Eucharistic minister and a member of the Damas de Guadalupe. She loved spending time with her family and dancing with her husband. Mercedez was a longtime Tigers Fan and enjoyed bowling.

Surviving are her five sons: Julian (Yoko) Soria, Michael (Lisa) Soria, Francisco (Suzette) Soria, Thomas (Carmen) Soria, and Joseph (Andra) Soria; grandchildren: Tommy (Jennifer), Elena (Nikolas), Michael, Meagan, Heather (Claud), Frankie, Kara, Nicolas, Madeline (Jeff), Ezra, Alex and Marc; great-grandchildren: Adrianna, Mateo, Mia, Scarlett, Sadie, Diego, Aster, Niko, Aria,  Julian, Emma, Cullen and Patten. She is also survived by brothers: Arturo Saucedo, Joe (Linda) Saucedo, Alfredo (Martha) Saucedo, David Saucedo, Frank (Mary) Saucedo, sister: Helena Hedrick sister in-law: Maria H. Saucedo; and her beloved dog, Maggie.

Mercedez was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings: Celemente Saucedo and Rogelio Saucedo; sisters: Evelia Contreras and Victoria Contreras.

FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:30 am Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. 6th Ave. Saginaw, MI  48601. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit and Deacon Librado Gayton will officiate. Rite of committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd (off State) on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 5:00-8:00 pm with a Vigil service for the Deceased at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue Wednesday at the church from 10:30 am until the time of the service.
