Obituary of Harold Raymond Keene
Harold was called home to Heaven on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at his home surrounded by his 3 daughters. Harold was born September 27, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan. He is the son of the late Walter and Robina (Thompson) Keene. Harold graduated from Arthur Hill Trade School, class of 1951.
Harold married the love of his life, June Wressell, on January 24, 1953; she preceded him in death in 2019. They spent 66 years together making wonderful memories. Many summers were spent on the beautiful Lake Superior shoreline; starting with their young children and eventually adding all the grandchildren to the camping memories. They were longtime host of Lake Superior State Forest Campground; making lifelong friends and collecting all the agates the lake would offer. Rock hounds you might say.
Harold retired from Garber Buick of Saginaw in 1993 with 40 years of great service. He was a great husband, father and grandfather. Always kind, soft-spoken, hardworking and honorable. A gentleman in every way. A great example to all. He will be missed beyond measure.
Harold is survived by his five children: Deb (Howe) Keene, Kathy (Mark) Mikula, Mary K. (Jeff) Rowe, Carol (Bob) Wynn, and Harold (Karen) Keene; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; sister: Mary Lou “Baby Lou” (Keene) Stephens; many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Harold was preceded in death by a son, Joe Keene, infant daughter, Karen Rae, one grandchild, Daniel Haas; three brothers, Lester, Maxwell and Charles and two sisters, Margaret and Dorothy.
