Obituary of Randall Louis Hubinger
Randall Louis Hubinger, passed away peacefully with family by his side Wednesday evening, October 4, 2023 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was born November 26, 1954 in Saginaw, son of the late Donald Louis and Viola Edna (Nuechterlein) Hubinger. Randy grew up in Saginaw and graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1972. He went on to attend Delta College before beginning his career at Saginaw Steering Gear, retiring after 30 years of service. Randy was a member of Peace Lutheran Church for many years before moving to Marquette where he joined Redeemer Lutheran Church. He met the love of his life Amy and the two were married August 19, 2006. Randy was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman who loved fishing, watching and feeding birds, watching various sports, and playing basketball and backgammon. However, everyone knows his first love was and will always be golf. Shortly before Randy and Amy were married, he moved to the UP. Together they traveled every nook and cranny of the Upper Peninsula wilderness, trekking the various trails and looking at the beautiful waterfalls. One of his favorite pastimes was driving down old dirt roads looking for bears. When not up north, Randy loved being in Florida especially Jensen Beach. He never gave up in life regardless of the trials he faced and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Randy is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Amy Hubinger; sister, Carol Lockwood; brother Jim (Melinda Plaugher) Hubinger; step-daughters, Hailey (Craig) Story and Alison (Mark II) Abraham; nieces and nephews, Kelly (Daniel) Booth, Matthew Lockwood, Jeffrey (Gina) Lockwood, Jessica (Ben) Roth, Leah (Daniel Rios) Hubinger, and Vaughn (Kati) Hubinger; step-grandchildren, Emma and Wyatt Story, and Mark III and Amelia Abraham; mother-in-law, Mary Ann Sudhoff; brother-in-law Mark Sudhoff; many beloved great nieces and nephews and friends; and his beloved dog Riley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law George Lockwood.
Randy’s family would like to give a special thank you to Dr.’s Jennifer and Christopher Dehlin in Marquette for helping him live his best life.
