Obituary of Shirley Ann Shaler
Shaler, Shirley Ann
Our loving mother, sister, aunt, cousin and dear friend passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. She was 89 years old. Shirley Ann Davis was born on April 16, 1934 in Saginaw to the late Weldon and Mary (Wozniak) Davis. She graduated from St. Peter & Paul High School. Shirley married Donald Shaler on August 7, 1954 in Saginaw and he preceded her in death on May 23, 1982. She worked for the Saginaw Public School System as a Bus Aide for over 20 years. Shirley was faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She enjoyed trips to the casino, playing bingo, reading, crosswords, comedies, visiting with family and friends and watching T.V.
Her great sense of humor, kindness, caring and strength will be greatly missed by her children: Scott Shaler, Thomas (Heidi) Shaler and Terri (Barb Olson) Shaler; brothers: David (Pauline) Davis, Jerry Davis and several nieces, nephews, cousins and her dear friend, Elizabeth Berkobein.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; and son, Dennis Shaler.
FUNERAL: A funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1525 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Rev. Fr. Adam Mahar will officiate. Private burial will follow the service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the church on 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Liturgy.
