Obituary of David Austin Sierocki
David Austin Sierocki, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away unexpectedly Monday, August 7, 2023 at his home in Caro. He was 77 years old. David was born August 17, 1945 in Saginaw, son of the late Austin and Mary Ellen (Grams) Sierocki.
He attended Saginaw schools graduating from Arthur Hill High School in 1963. David went on to attend Delta College before gaining employment with Saginaw Steering Gear. He spent his entire working career there retiring after over 30 years of service.
David was a sportsman in many ways. He grew up fishing which was a hobby he enjoyed throughout his life. He was also a sports fan and enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, particularly involving Michigan and Detroit teams. As David got older, he developed a great fondness for horses. He owned and trained horses which became one of his true passions. David was also a notorious collector and loved going to auctions. He always found treasures that he shared with family and friends. Whether for himself or someone else, David always felt all his treasures had a purpose.
A true family man, David loved his family more than anything. He was strong, kind and would give anyone a helping hand. David was a devoted father and grandfather and taught his kids to be humble, kind and caring.
He is survived by his children, Amy (Scott VerHagen) Sierocki and Mandy Kocsis, and daughter-in-law, Kelly Martin. His only son, Paul, preceded him in death. He is also survived by nine much-loved grandchildren, Sydney, Carly, Benjamin, Samuel, Natalie, Katherine, Jessica, Matthew, and Luke; his beloved siblings, sister Sue (Eric) Smith, Terry (Debbie) Sierocki and Tom Sierocki; and numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. His family and friends will always remember him as a compassionate, warm-hearted, and loving father and brother who was always ready to help in any way.
