I was so sorry to learn of Marcy's passing. We were in music together at CMU in the late 50's. She lived right across the hall from me. She was so talented in music, & helped sometimes with difficult math! A very sweet & likeable gal. I last saw her at the Vassar City Band concert, I believe last summer. She will be greatly missed! I play piano, so I probably accompanied her for something at CMU. She's in good hands now. Sending our deepest sympathy to all of her family. Glenda (Eastham) Wilson CMU class of '59

We enjoyed being in the choir at State Stree UMC, with Ed directing and Marcile as organist. They shared their music and their home with knowledge and caring. We will plant a tree in Marcile's memory.
Love and prayers to Ed and family.

Marcile was an inspiration, as well as a mentor, as I started in music at age 41. She and Ed would have Marv and I over to their home. She would play piano while I would play bassoon. She was always so encouraging and supportive. She was a big reason I was able to persevere in learning music as an adult, and also for remaining in the Midland Concert Band in the years to come. Then, when she had entered the battle with cancer, her determination to prevail over it all moved me deeply. She triumphed not only over the cancer, but all the ins and outs of the medical treatments she had to endure. She would take her seat as a bass clarinetist in the band, at times on oxygen, and play well, looking over at me to smile. I will never forget that smile and the hospitality she and Ed showed to us. Those simple acts counted for so much! May you, Ed, and the rest of the family, know how deeply she will be missed. Yet how she lives on in encouraging those of us who have benefited from her beautiful character, love of music and zest for life. Love, Barb and Marv Henry

Condolences to Ed and family on Marcile's death. Marcile was a blessing to St Paul all the years she served as organist. Ed and Marcile became family friends over the years and we enjoyed listening to their music when they performed in the area.

What a tough lady! She played in Blast From the Past, a Midland big band, for years, everything from sax to clarinet to keyboards. Even when she was first diagnosed with cancer, she kept on playing and smiling. That was 20 years ago. She and Ed were mainstays in Midland Concert Band and the Community Orchestra as well. She was a heckuva bass clarinetist, even with her oxygen tank!
Rest in peace, Marcile. You will be remembered with love.
