Obituary of Cathy Vasquez Garcia

Garcia, Cathy Vasquez, age 64 passed away at Covenant Healthcare with her family at her side. Cathy was born on November 17, 1958 in Saginaw, MI the daughter of the late Joseph and Celedonia (Espinoza) Vasquez Sr. Cathy graduated from Saginaw High School in 1979 and continued her education at Ross Medical School where she received her certification as a medical assistant. She was a longtime member of St. George Catholic Church. Cathy enjoyed dancing, bowling, going to the casino, playing music and listening to music. But most of all, Cathy loved spending time with her family; especially the grandchildren.

Cathy is survived by her children, Delores (Patrick) Cameron, Laura (Kendrick) Garcia and Anna (James) Garza; grandchildren, Jada Cameron, Jazzlynn Banks-Vasquez, Patrick Cameron Jr., Isiah Garcia Jr., Navia Garza, James Garza Jr. and Stella Garza; great-grandchildren, Jaiden M. Cameron, Kyrie Melo Cameron, Jalante Torres, Loyalty Doster and EZ’Aelia Garcia; brothers, Joseph (Lupe) Vasquez, Benny Vasquez, Bobby Vasquez and Brian Vasquez; sisters, Joanne Vasquez, Jackie (Steve) Rodriquez, Rosemary (Ronnie) Smith, Jeannie Vasquez, Stephanie Vasquez and Elisa Wazney Culpepper; best friends, Olga Vasquez and Shirley Prince; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by a grandson, Carmelo Lee Cameron and a brother, James Vasquez.

FUNERAL: A Memorial Service for Cathy will take place Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from La Union Civica Mexicana, 2715 Wadsworth Ave. Saginaw, MI 48601.

VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to gather and visit after the service until 7:00 p.m.
