Obituary of Dale Eugene Suppes
Dale Eugene Suppes, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023 in Frankenmuth, age 83. He was born August 9, 1939 in Midland, son of the late David Suppes and Mabel (Howard) Jones. Dale grew up in Burt, graduating from Birch Run High School. Shortly after, he met the love of his life, the former Helen Drielick. The two were married March 18, 1961 and spent 40 years together until her death in 2001. Dale and Helen started building their family by beginning with their house. Dale was proud of the home he built and lived there for nearly 60 years. Dale was employed with several companies through the years, most recently for Aramark Vending. He retired after 35 years of service before deciding he was not ready. Dale went back to work for Aramark at Saginaw Valley State University part-time for another 15 years, retiring again at 78.
Throughout his life Dale enjoyed music and even taught himself how to play the harmonica. His love of music led him to the White Crow Music Conservatory where he became part of their family. He was also known for his love of antiques. Dale enjoyed searching for and collecting old objects to add to his home collection. Dale had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also took tremendous pride in his yard and flowers. As he got older, Dale started a new hobby of making wine, taking the old saying “aged like fine wine” to heart. More than anything, Dale loved spending time with his daughters. They have many precious memories of camping and going to parks and lakes, time that will always be cherished. His sense of humor will be missed by all of those who knew him.
Dale is survived by his children, Lorie (Dennis Smith) Suppes and Cammie (Tim) Foess; grandchildren, Haley Rathkamp and Tori Rathkamp; bonus grandchildren, Emily Foess and Nathan Foess; nieces, Sedesa Spiekerman and Kara Moncado; special friends, Jack and Kathy Krupp, Pedro and Cheryl Moncada, Zig Zietler and Siusan O’Rourke, Ron and Faye Galvas, Gary “Skip” Brown, Ray and Lacey Haddad; as well as many other nieces, nephews, and in-laws from his wife’s family; and more friends than can be mentioned.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Chelsea and the caring staff at MediLodge of Frankenmuth as well as Cheryl and his other home health aides.
