Jimenez, Elizabeth Helen

Brant, Michigan

Our loving wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt and dear friend passed away peacefully at her home, on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 with her adoring husband by her side. She was 76 years old. Elizabeth Helen Rosas was born on August 9, 1946 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Peter G. and Rita (Reyes) Rosas. Helen graduated from Buena Vista High School in 1964. She then continued her education at Beauty School. She met the love of her life, Benito Jimenez, in grade school and through many years of adventure they were married on May 3, 1969 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, and he survives her. Helen worked as a beautician for over 30 years in the Fort Saginaw Mall from the day it opened until its closing. She also worked for 15 years at Green Acres Apartments. Helen loved to bowl in a variety of bowling leagues, she loved to garden and had a magical green thumb. Her talents also included sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the Lord was a priority in her life and would continually keep her family in prayer. During her retirement years, Helen and Benito enjoyed going to the movies, dining at Mr. Hotdog, enjoying Red Lobster shrimp, visiting the pier, playing bingo, and getting her nails done. Helen’s loving spirit could also be seen in the care that she had with the many animals in her life including dogs, cats and birds.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 53 years of marriage, but a lifetime of memories, Benito; children: Sophia (fiancé, Charles Pankey) Jimenez, Jason (Richelle) Jimenez and Lisa Burkhart; grandchildren: Xavier Jimenez, Crysta, Ally and Addy Pankey, Elaina, Jason Jr., Alexis, Jackson and Isiah Jimenez, and Gemma Burkhart; brother, Ralph (Lupe) Rosas; sister, Kathy Munoz; many nieces, nephews, extended family and special family friend, John Filek.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and son-in-law, Mark Burkhart.
