Livingston, George Edward

 

Beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away Monday, February 20, 2023 at his home. He was 83 years old. George was born April 7, 1939 in Saginaw, son of the late Frank and Wilma (Kasch) Livingston. He grew up in Saginaw and graduated from Saginaw High School in 1957. George enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and served for four years as Radioman 2^nd class stationed on the USCGC Escanaba. George then began working for General Motors while acquiring his pilot ratings. Soon after, he was employed by Dow Chemical Company as a pilot until his retirement in 2000. After retirement, George decided to become a boat Captain and ferried the Princess Wenona in Bay City for nearly 15 years. He was also a proud member of the Saginaw Masonic Lodge. George enjoyed many things in life but more than anything he loved reading and spending time with family and friends.

 

He is survived by his sons, Breck Livingston and Todd Livingston; step-son, Jeff (Tori) Little; Breck and Melanie’s children, Brody, Hannah, and Nigel Livingston and Jeff and Tori’s daughter, Cori Little. George was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years Carol Little Livingston; step-daughter, Nancy Moon; and sister, Kay Burns.

 

FUNERAL: Services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, February 24, 2023 from Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd (off State). Dr. Rev. John Soyster to officiate. Cremation to follow.

 

VISITATION: George’s family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday from 3-7 p.m. and again Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Masonic Funeral Rites will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday evening.
