Obituary of Oessie R. Trader
Trader, Oessie R.
Saginaw, Michigan
Our beloved brother, uncle, companion and dear friend passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital. He was 71 years old. Oessie R. Trader was born on November 13, 1951 to the late Rose Lee Trader and Reuben Gayton in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Oessie lived the majority of his life in Philadelphia, where he loved to listen to music and swap albums with his beloved brother, Ron. He also had a deep love for football and basketball and cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles and 76’ers. Six years ago, he moved to Saginaw to spend time with his dear companion, Tina Harris. In those years he fondly remembered the good old days with his parents, siblings and friends from Philly. If Oessie wasn’t found reminiscing, you could follow the smell of good food to the kitchen where he would be cooking with love.
Oessie is survived by his life companion, Tina Harris; his children, Oessie Trader Jr. and Christine Trader; Tina’s children: Braxton Bentley, Ethan Harris, Trevor Harris, Justyne McKinney, Landon and London Harris; three sisters, Lynette Bennett, Denise “Niecy” Bruce and Charmaine “Cookie” Trader; sister-in-law, Maryann Trader; his special niece, Ronnie “Bunny” (Alfred “Peter”) Bell; Tina’s sister, Victoria Harris; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Oessie was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ronald “Ron” James Gus Trader.
In keeping with Oessie’s wishes cremation has taken place. Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State), Saginaw, MI 48603 on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
In Memory of our Uncle:
The sound of laughter rings in my ears
as I sit and think about you.
We never spent much time together,
but my love for you was true.
Others recognized you
as being a wonderful man.
Kind, generous and loving
always willing to lend a hand.
My eyes fill with tears
as I picture your handsome face.
Knowing you are now gone
to the heavenly place.
Now your life has ended
a new one will begin.
I say good-bye for now dear uncle
for I know I will see you again.
Gero Lorna
