Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Great Lakes Rehabilitation Center the age of 94. Marion Dolores Bright was born on May 20, 1928 in Detroit to the late Aaron and Martha (Moyer) Bright. She graduated from Saginaw High School in the Class of 1946. Marion married Everett (Lefty) Fager Jr. on August 20, 1949 at First Baptist Church in Saginaw. Lefty, the love of her life, passed away on March 14, 2004 after 54 years together. Marion was a faithful member of First Baptist Church (Beacon of Hope Church) for 70 years. For many years, Marion along with Lefty, ushered at Community Concerts and they worked for the Commission on Aging delivering Meals on Wheels for 26 years. Marion was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, touching many lives.  

Surviving are her three daughters, Linda Estrada, Ann Arbor, MI, Lynn Lamirand (Lonnie George), Harrisville, MI, and Nancy Ducis (Andris), North Port, FL. Marion was so proud of her four grandchildren, Mandy Freed (Craig), Marcus Estrada (Angela), Dr. Katrina Ducis (Stewart Hall), and Krista Ducis; two great-grandchildren, Sam and Piper as well as several nieces and nephews.

Marion was preceded in death by her brother, Bill.

The Fager family would like to extend a warm thank you to all the staff at Wescourt for the excellent care given to Marion, also to the staff at Great Lakes Rehabilitation and Promedica Hospice. A special thank you to Marion’s nephew Bill.

FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Beacon of Hope Church, 2109 W. Michigan Ave., 48638. Pastor Rick Cunningham will officiate. Committal service to take place at at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.

VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Saginaw County Commission on Aging for their Meals on Wheels program.
