Kern, Marilyn K.

Bridgeport, Michigan

Passed away with her family and friends by her side on Saturday evening, December 10, 2022 at her residence. She was 62 years old. Marilyn Kay Little was born on July 31, 1960 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan to the late Harold and Marilyn (Feuerstein) Little Sr. She graduated from Frankenmuth High School in 1978. Marilyn was employed by Covenant HealthCare where she worked in nutrition services, retiring in 2021 after 26 years of service.

Marilyn loved having a beer while sitting around a bonfire with her loved ones and her Covenant family. She also enjoyed gardening, spending time up north, and fishing. Marilyn was known for shopping for a great deal and buying anything on sale. She was a huge Lions fan and swore every year they were going to the Super Bowl.  But, what she really loved most was spending time with her family.

Surviving are her children, Miranda (Chad) Leach and Brianne Hardy; grandchildren, Tyler, Abigail, and Jacob Leach who affectionately referred to her as “Nernie”, Vartan Alexander II and Adeline Harrell; husband, James Kern; two brothers, Harold (Sue) Little and Vernon (Ginny) Little and many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Matzke and Caleb Poole and her sister, Kathleen Vanecek.

Marilyn’s family would like to thank the staff at Promedica Hospice and Dr. Hassan for the wonderful care they provided to Marilyn in her time of need.
