Richard L. “Buckshot” Lyvere

Birch Run, Michigan

Our beloved brother and uncle passed away peacefully on Friday, October 7, 2022 at his niece’s home, after a brief illness. He was 73 years old. Richard Lee Lyvere was born on July 12, 1949 in Saginaw to the late Milford D. and Emma (Curtin) Lyvere, Sr. He attended high school in West Virginia, and returned to Saginaw after his graduation in 1967. Buckshot started working in 1975 for Michigan Sugar Company, and retired when the Carrollton plant closed. Buckshot loved to spend many hours decompressing playing golf and working in his yard. He enjoyed watching NFL football, especially the Green Bay Packers. Buckshot enjoyed a good trip, and stopping at Big Boy for lunch. He was a faithful member of the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and Holy Family Catholic Church.

Surviving are his brother: Louis Leroy (Nancy) Lyvere of Freeland; two sisters: Shirley Ann Chevalier of Whittemore and Lillian Deloris Lyvere of Burt. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by five brothers: Milford J. “Chum” Lyvere, Floyd Albert Lyvere, Lawrence Lyvere, Jack Lyvere and Robert Dewayne Lyvere; two sisters, Mille M. Lyvere and Ellen Kienutski; and his parents, Milford D. and Emma Ann (Curtin) Lyvere. .

FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1525 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw 48601. Rev. Fr. Prentice A. Tipton Jr. will officiate. Rite of Committal will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to visit at the church on Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption or Holy Family Catholic Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State).
