Obituary of Kelly Lynn Crannell
Kelly (Marino) Crannell passed to her heavenly home on October 6, 2022 at age 51. She was born in Saginaw, Michigan on October 14, 1970 and was the love of their life to her parents, Mary and Richard Crannell.
Kelly attended St. Helen’s Elementary, Arthur Hill High School, and was a graduate of Michigan Technological University, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. She then went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Business at Saginaw Valley State University. She was united in marriage with Joe Marino, Jr. on January 21, 2013.
She started her career with O’Brien and Associates of Chicago, Illinois, then worked with RC Engineering Inc. of Saginaw and eventually joined MDOT, working in Aeronautics and the LAP Division.
Kelly will be dearly missed by her parents, Mary Crannell and Richard & Shelly Crannell and grandmother, Eleanore Crannell. She is survived by her sisters, Rosalind (Chad) Geyer, Marie Poineau, and brother, Jerry Poineau, along with dear nephews: Landon Poineau, Henry and Walter Geyer, Braylon Schneider and her precious niece, Aaliyah Schneider. She also leaves a special friend, Sue Overstreet, stepson, Quenton Marino, step grandson, Colton and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joe Marino, Jr. in January of 2022.
Kelly loved travelling and was especially fond of taking bike trips on her Harley with her special group of girls from the “Timber Wolf Ladies” and “Hardly Angels” club. She was a lifelong lover of animals and will be missed by both “Lucky” and “Bentley”.
Rest in peace Kelly, and take your place in heaven.
FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at St. Dominic Parish, Ss. Peter & Paul site, 4735 W. Michigan, Saginaw. Rev Fr. Steven Gavit will officiate.. Committal service to follow at Oakwood Cemetery, 7603 W. Higgins Lake Dr. Higgins Lake, MI 48653.
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Vigil for the deceased will take place at 6:15 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday, October 12 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Amazing Grace Animal Rescue in Saginaw.
