Obituary of Elaine Dorothy Pietryga

Elaine D. Pietryga age 84 passed away at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital, Saturday, October 1, 2022. Elaine was born on August 18, 1938 in Bay City, Michigan the daughter of the late Anthony and Helen (Malinowski) Premo. Elaine was united in marriage to Norbert Pietryga on July 8, 1989; he survives her. After graduating from high school Elaine went on to cosmetology school, eventually opening up her own salon years later. During her life, Elaine also worked at an investment company, the fur department at Jacobson’s in Saginaw, an insurance company, as well as sold real estate. Elaine and her husband were longtime members of St. Dominic’s Parish, St Stephen’s site.

Elaine loved to dance; she started teaching ballet; when she was in middle school and continued as a young lady teaching dance at a downtown studio in Bay City. Elaine also danced in numerous floor shows in the Bay City area. In her younger years, Elaine was a skilled golfer and was a member of the Saginaw Country Club. She was an excellent cook and a gracious hostess. Elaine valued her relationships with family and friends throughout her life. She also enjoyed spending winters vacationing in Florida with Norbert. Elaine especially loved spending time with her family and was so proud of her grandchildren’s accomplishments. She will be dearly missed.

Elaine is survived by loving husband of 33 years, Norbert, two step-children and their spouses: Cynthia (Mark) Pietryga Servis and Christopher (Glenda) Pietryga; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL: A funeral mass for Elaine will take place Monday, October 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM from St. Dominic’s Parish, St. Stephen’s site, 1310 Malzan St. Saginaw, MI 48602. Rev. Fr. Steven Gavit to officiate. Interment to follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Bay City, Michigan.

VISITATION: Family and friends will gather Sunday, October 9, 2022 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM; a Vigil for the Deceased will take place at 4:00 PM at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) Saginaw, Michigan 48603.
